The Joys of Spring

I am experiencing my first spring down south for nearly 40 years It has not all been plain sailing with some rugged weather in October. Days and nights of fierce winds rattling doors, knocking down trees and whipping the water of Lake Victoria into a frenzy of white caps. On the up side there have been days of blue skies and gentle breezes allowing the pink blossoms from the apple tree to drift through the garden like snowflakes.

Everything is blooming all at once, bare branches are sporting green shoots, pint sized fruit is hiding amongst the foliage, the wisteria is gracefully decorating the front verandah with purple flowers and the roses are showing off in all corners of the garden with plate sized blooms and brilliant colours. There are less showy but nonetheless beautiful blooms showing their faces - white and blue daisies, mounds of pig face in magenta, white and brilliant yellow, azaleas and bottle brushes.

I hope these colours and blooms will make you smile and bring you joy as they do me each day I step into the garden.

About my blog

I am a planner, list maker, organiser and worrywart but for the first time ever I am throwing myself out into the universe without a job, but with ideas, optimism and support from family and friends. I am leaving the loving embrace of my beautiful children, the familiar, the known and the comfortable after 37 years of life in the Northern Territory.  A new segment of my life is about to begin. I know where it starts but not how it will unfold. This blog will be my companion, listener and memory keeper of this journey.
