

Gründau and surrounds
Back 'home' at my sister's place. Gründau is a village. When we get off the main road and drive down the hill you can see the whole village in one go. There are wonderful old towns in the surrounding area. Gelnhausen is one of them. A friend who lives opposite Vera has the most amazing garden, full of saved treasures, artwork and bonsai. Hundertwasser
So many amazing people in this world, such wonderful spaces and gorgeous art. Vera and I spent the last night of our road trip in Magdeburg which used to be part of East Germany. How lucky to be staying in a Hundertwasser inspired hotel. The whole place is so totally huggable and joyful. It is a hotel as well as having private accommodation. Curves and madness everywhere. Mind you I kept thinking that the shower screen in the bathroom was leaning inwards due to the tiles b


Amazing Poland
Poland is old and has been damaged by war but everywhere we went buildings were being rebuilt. Some cities were almost totally destroyed and rebuilt to ensure the history is there to be seen and enjoyed. Two nights in Krakow as there was so much to explore. Again old buildings, cobblestone streets, wonky footpaths and a great market. We stayed in the Tango House B&B which is the oldest in the town. A tad scary going up the worn stairs (no lift here) through the beautifully
